Did you go through Police verification in India? Which location have you applied?
This process is really not defined uniquely across all the consulates. I am working with SFO.
I submitted my Kidās application on 6th November initially. I got all documents and passport returned to me on 11th Nov with one document requires notarized and one correction on the form.
I resubmitted all my documents on 12th Nov, 13th Nov VFS received
On 17th Nov it went to Consulate - SFO - Status as Received forms and fee
On 24th Nov - Status changed to reviewing the documents
On 28th Nov received a mail for Police verification in Bangalore and no one has contacted till now. I am not sure if everyone is getting Police verification for their applications. My kid came to USA when he was a year old and never have to go through Police verification from India till date not sure if itās because of his age crossed 15th year and we applied for his 10 year validity Passport.
Not sure when we will get the passport.
Thatās very random. Some got it the next day. Some got it after a week or so. It depends on time, consulate, holidays, vacations etc.

I Applied for my daughters passport, they received the package on nov 24th but no update till date, do they contact us while they return documents or they just come home?
I havenāt received any update and unable to track the application based on the reference number,I sent my package to DC.

whose document is required Applicant or Parents and what kind of documents? As I have applied for my child.
I m in same boat. mine reached VFS at 11/17 and confirmation on 11/20, still shows āprocess in the embassyā. NO idea what to do!!
You have sent your application during the Holiday period and it will take few days or week to reflect the status. Any issue with documentation they will send you back with the return slip which you provided to them.
Always Use 20-XXXXXXXXXX which you have for tracking. Use this # to track on VFS or Consulate

Looks like itās really slow down and we are on mercy of their process. Let us hope for the best.
It says invalid input.
Call or send them a mail asking for status
It will say Invalid input until you get Acknowledgement. VFS didnāt open your application yet.

Finally my application in SFO center got an update. Application received by SF on 11/19 and on 12/01 I got an update saying " Your application is currently āon holdā due to certain deficiencies. Please check your email for more details and send the requested documents to the VFS Indian consular application Centre where you had submitted your application. However, I have not received any Email from them yet. I reached out to helpline, not sure how long would it take for them send an Email about missing document.
We are exactly in the same boat. I reached out to them via email and call on Monday and Iām still waiting for confirmation email from them on what exactly those missing documents were.
Such a frustrating experience overall so far.

Passport verification was done yesterday. Would there be any status change after that, I currently see it as Passport has been printed, but thats the status for more than a week.
@thanmayisri Hey Tharun - Did they acknowledge your document? Also - Had the status on the VFS changed or is it still says the application is forwarded to the embassy? I just called the call center and paid a fortune for useless service. Please donāt call them at all!
